The Indian Film industry is known for their trademark sensationalism and with the advent of Tik Tok, memes have completely gone out of control. Quite recently, some video clips of the filmfare award show in 2009 where Mukesh was seen insulting Khan went viral and did indeed provide the viewers with unabashed entertainment. Many presumed that Neil mocked King Khan which is definitely a topic of controversy. On the other hand, speaking to Hindi Rush, the actor maintains he has never been and will never be so disrespectful to anything so senior to him.
During the 2009 Filmfare Awards, he asked Mukesh Nitin Neil one question regarding his name. In a tone full of mock, he stated, “I have a question for Neil Nitin Mukesh. Tumhara naam hai Neil Nitin Mukesh, bhaiya surname kahan pe hai? Saare ke saare first names hain (Your name is Neil Nitin Mukesh, you have three names, but where is the surname)? Thus instead of replying why he has a toupee, he made a mockery instead.”
This very joke triggered Neil to shout to shut up to SRK and this incident did the rounds on social media.
“Upon hearing the question, Neil replied with a thank you for the goodwill, but asked Shah Rukh if he could express himself freely. After receiving nod from Shah Rukh, Neil claimed that he did feel insulted by the question. Besides, he said that his father was there. So, he felt he had to attempt to deal with it. In the end, he said sorry and asked them to stop .
